Morning all, where are people staying prior to Dirtworks? Would be good to catch up with any nobmobbers doing the ride and any suggestions/thoughts welcome!

In a tent
I'm planning on camping as camp fees are included in the entry anyway. A lot of other people will be too as cabin/room accomodation is quite limited.
Camping sounds good. I just
Camping sounds good.
I just did a bit more reading and realised they open up sites throughout st albans. Is there usually plenty of room or does it get a bit sardine-like?
camping's the go, heaps of
camping's the go, heaps of room last year, just a real PITA to pack up the tent when your completely buggered after the race.
Campervan !
My brother in law ( FieldofMars) and I usually rent a cheap and cheerful campervan for the Dirtworks weekend. It's a lot easier to set up and pack up than a tent and you get a decent bed and a decent night's sleep ( well at least after I had my snoring 'fixed').

Campervans?
I've looked at renting campers for events, but they usually have something silly like a 5 day minimum
Or do you have a special source? Even a camper trailer would be very nice... I'd buy one of them if had somewhere to park it!
Caravan?
hmm, i have a caravan, wonder how much i could rent it for

@Rob
Someone pointed me in the direction of camper trailers for hire on Rotorburn when I was enquiring about tents. I'll see if I can find them.
EDIT: First two results in Google.

Have a look - there are heaps.
Special source ...
Hey Rob.
We usually get one of these

Because it's so basic, they rent them for 3 day minimums. I usually pick up Friday lunch and return Monday morning.
From my extensive research, this seemed to be the only van in the country with less than a 5 day minimum hire.
They are very basic though and the gearbox is like stirring a stick in a bucket of bolts.... It comes with a gas stove, water supply and cooking utensils. Unfortunately it has 'Backpacker' written down the side in big blue letters...
This year, FieldofMars has obtained a camper trailer so we will be taking that instead ( the only reason I'm giving away our secret source)
