requirements to race champs
For the record you do not have to have competed in any other state rounds to qualify to race in the Champs.
That idea was discussed several years ago but never implemented.
As with all state DH races now the only requirement is that you are a full MTBA member.
What's the deal with
What's the deal with different age groups and categories?

Cool, thanks. Last question, I realise that it is state champs but what are the riders like and what would you say the overall standard is? advanced or?..... That and why is it that when I go to pay for registration it tells me to pay for a day license when I'm a full member?...
It is state champs. Every one
It is state champs. Every one has to be a full MTBA member so ideally they are experienced racers.
As for why it's asking you for a day license. Is your current license up to date and have you entered you rider number correctly?
what is and where do you get
what is and where do you get the rider number from because i didn't get one when I registered. I haven't completely finished my rego yet because i don't want to pay for a day license when there aren't any day license riders allowed. I also renewed my membership two nights ago. I used the registration link from MTBA.com and I ticked the "I am a MTBA member box" and still it tells me to pay $15 for a day license... Any advice?
Rider number is the MTBA
Rider number is the MTBA number which will stay the same if you have renewed. I haven't done the on line renewal so I'm not sure how long it takes to process
Best bet is to contact Tony at info@mtba.asn.au
