Wow!

John Bange on a racing bike on his property in Clifton, Queensland.

John Bange was a gliding pioneer. He designed and built the first enclosed-fuselage glider to fly on the Darling Downs. It made its maiden flight in Clifton on the 27 October 1935.

And also a keen rider too by the looks of it!

How long have you known about that Alchemist?

The picture pops up from time to time, dont forget that it's probably fixed gear also.

The various digital archives are worth a browse from time to time.

That's leaning

I'm amazed how far over he is leaning on the bike/tyre combo he has and I'm not sure if I would lean that far on the same surface with a current MTB. Top photo.

Getting around

I notice this image was used in CBO's latest flyer... and why not - it's a great shot for 80 years old!
