Scotty T has come through with another sick vid highlighting not only all the hard work Skinny Duke and Mal put into the local DH scene but also what sik riders they are!

"After 7 long Months of digging and planning the builders of Lithgow's new DH race track, the Pony Express, finally get a day to enjoy the result of their labour."

An epic edit by Scotty T

5 years ago the Central Tablelands Mountain Bike Club lost the lease on their downhill track up at the State Mine Reserve in Lithgow. This track was a part of both the NSW State Downhill Series and the Australian National Downhill Series. Since then the club has battled through thick and thin trying to find an area suitable to hold both State and National races again. Continued in first comment..

Lovely night for ride.

the stars were out in force as Richard, Meggsie, Charlie and myself headed off around the first half of the Rydal loop. At the far end we headed leftonthe fire trail and took int he new stuff out through the diggings and then followed the railway line out to the highway.

After bit of dicking around trying to avoid the highway itself we gave up and ventured up the tarmac and across Pikes lane back to the western road and then ground our way up to Mt Lambie to Clints place.

Rock chute

Looking back up the Rock Chute. Nothing major the A line through the trees will spit you to the drop at the right hands side (looking up) with a metric bucket load of speed, then it's straight into the big berm. Just hold on and grin.

A line

The A line gaps over the tree root and straight into another drop down the rock chute. The B Line can be seen on the left taking a lower line in but then needing to cut back right for and easier roll down the chute.

Just started a bit of work on our new DH trail. Skinny Mal and the crew have been going gang busters doing all the hard work just went up today to do a bit of the fiddly stuff.

It all starts with a fast naturally cambered section and then swings up into this corner.

This gives us a natural grade reverse to help control water but has the issue of having the possibility of water sheeting across the trail in the braking and turning zone
